Super RTL Becomes Member Of Prix Jeunesse

The Prix Jeunesse Foundation's homepage presents a photograph of Nepalese children in school uniforms. They are looking at a screen in total amazement; they are being shown film excerpts from the Prix Jeunesse festival. The children then relate whether or not they would like to see a particular program on Nepali TV.

Such undertakings are typical for the Prix Jeunesse: the foundation aims at promoting quality children's TV programming worldwide. For this purpose, it has called a festival into being and developed ideas like the "Prix Jeunesse Suitcase," which is used in Nepal and elsewhere. The Prix Jeunesse was founded more than 40 years ago in Munich; the awards have become renowned in the children's television sector.

The Free State of Bavaria, the city of Munich, the Bavarian Broadcasting Company, ZDF, and the Bavarian State Center for New Media are all members of the Prix Jeunesse. And now, so is Super RTL: the children's station has just become a member of the Prix Jeunesse. Claude Schmit, Managing Director, Super RTL, commented: "I am very pleased to support an institution with a reputation like the Prix Jeunesse." Super RTL especially cares about procuring high quality programming for children.
