Vox Puts Its Programming At The Service Of SOS Children’s Villages
The RTL Group channel Vox is putting all its efforts and part of its programming at the service of the SOS Children’s Villages for the second time. This year, the joint relief project will run from Dec 4 – 11 and will benefit the “6 Villages for 2006” project. On these days, viewers can donate five euros for the work done worldwide by the Children’s Villages simply by making a call. Vox in its turn will devote its own branded programs to the relief effort during Children’s Villages week.
From the “Voxtours” travel format to the cooking show “Schmeckt nicht, gibt’s nicht,” from “Hundkatzemaus” about animals and the interior design show “Wohnen nach Wunsch” to “Fit For Fun TV” – everyone is joining in and putting “SOS Children’s Villages” at the heart of their respective shows. “Voxtours” will travel to the SOS Children’s Village in Nairobi ; Tim Mälzer will cook with the young residents of the Children’s Village in Detmold , and the interior design wishes being fulfilled this time are those of a Children’s Village in the Sauerland region of Germany . Parallel to these editorial activities, Vox will air calls for donations produced specifically for the fund drive.
The monies donated will go to the “6 Villages for 2006” project, which seeks to build six new Children’s Villages by the end of the Soccer World Cup in Germany : in Brazil , Mexico , Nigeria , South Africa , Vietnam and the Ukraine . More than 800 destitute children will be given a new home, a family and a future in this way.
Vox’ Managing Director Frank Hoffmann commented on the fund drive: “It is a big priority for us to make something happen in partnership with our viewers. As a TV channel, we have a great opportunity: we can use our programs to show why it is important to get involved; we can issue a call for donations and go on to document that every euro is well spent.“
