Super RTL Stars Give Gift Packages And More Than €60,000 To Sankt Augustin Children’s Hospital

The young patients at the Asklepios Children's Hospital in Sankt Augustin were rather surprised when they received a visit from famous TV stars on Wednesday. The popular Super RTL hosts Nina Moghaddam, David Wilms, Paddy Kroetz, and Florian Ambrosius, and the Super RTL band Banaroo delivered 67 gift packages with games, books, DVDs, and radio plays to the hospital. Steffi, Cat, Bobby, and Vito of Banaroo added a donation of more than €60,000, which not only was appreciated by the children but also the hospital's Managing Director, Günter Landwehr. "We'll use the money to buy laptops to enable the children here to connect with their schools. Also, we'll buy a special heart ultrasound device, which we desperately need." Super RTL Managing Director Claude Schmit was also present: "In times of tight budgets, it's especially important to support the work of institutions such as the 'Association for the Promotion of the Children's Hospital and the German Children's Heart Center'."

The gifts were collected during the big Toggo Christmas rallye on Super RTL. Together with their fans, the stars of Germany's leading children's station did their best and won lots of points, which were later converted into donations, during the Christmas campaign. The €60,000 donated by Banaroo came from the proceeds of their single "Coming Home For Christmas." One euro per sold copy went to the children's hospital.
