Arvato Systems ISO 27001-Certified – A Positive Signal To Clients And Partners

Arvato Systems has just become one of the world’s first companies to be certified with the ISO 27001 international standard. The German Association Of Quality And System Management approved without amendment the standard adopted by Arvato Systems in October 2005. This certification is, in the firm’s opinion, both a seal of approval and a selling point that will increase clients’ and partners’ confidence in the company. In bidding for security-critical contracts, for example in the financial service sector, the ISO standard is an important market advantage and even a prerequisite to signing up business. The international standard replaces the British standard 7799, which Arvato Systems successfully achieved in 2003.

The ISO 27001 specifically requires conception, implementation, operation, supervision, maintenance and improvement of a documented information security management system taking into account the risks within an organization. This strategic security arrangement makes it possible for Arvato Systems to serve clients with high security requirements. The high security computer centers bring business-critical availability in over 99 percent of cases and the emergency plan to protect the core IT functions offers clients maximum security case of an emergency. Under the ISO 27001 certification Arvato Systems is subject to a security control system, which fulfills the requirements of the "Sarbanes Oxley Acts," and an SAS70 audit.
