Télévie Raises A Record Of More Than Seven Million Euro

This year RTL Belgium and RTL Luxembourg raised €7,204,432 during Télévie, their joint initiative, to fund leukemia research and provide therapy for children and adults suffering from the disease. Since its foundation in 1989 Télévie has raised almost 77 million euro for this good cause.

The Télévie donations have almost continuously increases each year. In 2006 it more than tripled the amount raised in its first year and for the first time passed the seven million euro mark, setting a new record. In addition to the many donations from viewers and listeners, much of which were collected during the big gala on April 1, the employees of RTL Group in Luxembourg actively supported Télévie 2006 and pedaled on spinning bikes for the campaign. RTL Group pledged four euro for each kilometer; they cycled a total of 9,525 kilometers and raised €38,100, which RTL Group rounded up to €40,000.
