Wulf Bernotat Elected to Bertelsmann AG’s Supervisory Board
The Bertelsmann AG Annual General Meeting today elected Dr. Wulf H. Bernotat (57) to the Bertelsmann AG Supervisory Board. Bernotat, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of E.ON AG, will take his seat on the supervisory body effective immediately. Christian van Thillo, CEO of the Flemish media group De Persgroep NV, retired from the Supervisory Board, his term of office having expired.

Dr. Wulf H. Bernotat (57) has been Chairman and CEO of E.ON AG in Düsseldorf, the world’s largest investor-owned energy service provider, since May 1, 2003. The company focuses on the core businesses of electricity and gas and generates annual revenues of about €56 billion. A lawyer by training, Wulf Bernotat began his career in 1976 as a corporate attorney in the Legal department of Shell AG in Hamburg. Bernotat held various executive positions in the British-Dutch Shell group for two decades, most recently as a member of the Shell France management board. In 1996, he left to join Veba Oel AG’s management board, responsible for supply & marketing, refining & distribution and petrochemicals.
