Henrik Pahls to Head Investor Relations at Bertelsmann

Shobhna Mohn joins Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments

Henrik Pahls (39), head of Bertelsmann AG’s Corporate Finance department, will supervise Investor Relations in addition to his current duties from now on. In his current capacity as Senior Vice President Corporate Finance, Pahls is primarily in charge of Bertelsmann’s capital market transactions and credit rating. As Head of Investor Relations, he now additionally supervises the company’s communications with investors and analysts. Henrik Pahls will continue to report to Roger Schweitzer, Executive Vice President Corporate Treasury and Finance.

The unlisted Bertelsmann AG understands itself and acts as a capital market oriented company. For a long time Bertelsmann has been making use of the financing opportunities offered by the capital market via bonds and profit participation certificates to diversify its financing portfolio and to ensure its long-term financing. Just last month, Bertelsmann successfully placed two bonds totaling €1.5 billion, further broadening its international investor base. The long-term cultivation and maintenance of relations to the capital market and transparent financial reporting are a great priority for Bertelsmann.

Shobhna Mohn (41), who was in charge of Investor Relations to date, will take on assignments in managing the venture capital fund newly set up by Bertelsmann to spur the development of new technologies and business opportunities in the field of digital media. The Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments fund (BDMI) is equipped with starting capital of €50 million. Mohn had already supervised holdings in start-up companies earlier, as Managing Director of Bertelsmann Valley.
