Random House Audio participates in "1st Cologne Volunteers Day"
On September 12th and 13th, the employees of companies and institutions in and around the cathedral city will get involved in the "1st Cologne Volunteers Day" for social and cultural institutions. The event is designed to help bring "Different Worlds" together as partnerships are forged and an improved social climate is created in the city.
Random House Audio has chosen a project to support the Therapy Center for Victims of Torture, a Caritas psychosocial center. On September 12th, Random House Audio will hold a jobseekers workshop at its Cologne publishing offices for about 20 of the young people, aged between 16 and 25, that Caritas cares for.
The day's schedule, which was drawn up by Karl-Heinz Pütz and Ines Wallraff is currently being organized. The young people are to be informed about the legal aspects of employment as well as about prospects on the regional job market. Young people previously at risk of deportation will be on hand to talk about how they first completed school and vocational training, then entered the workforce. The young people will be given a tour of companies that accept apprentices at the Media Park – “neighbors” of Random House Audio including WDR 1Live, the Jolly Hotel and the MediaPark clinic - and are introduced to the many facets and fields in which they might train. Finally, in the afternoon the youngsters will have the opportunity to talk to HR managers and to go over their own application forms.
