The company’s employees are involved in "Cologne Volunteers Day," which is being held for the third time under the patronage of Cologne’s Mayor Fritz Schramma.

Under the heading "Together. For Cologne," employees from 16 Cologne-based companies donate their time and expertise to social projects. 18 non-profit organizations tackle 26 individual projects for which their social/welfare partners lack the requisite time and money. The projects are interesting and diverse: Institut der deutschen Wirtschaft (Cologne Institute for Economic Research) staff members grab paint and brushes and help redecorate the senior center, while asset managers help build a cat enclosure and dog run at the animal shelter, and bicycles from the City Orphanage are repaired by commodity suppliers.

Random House Audio continues its partnership with the Caritas Cologne Therapy Center for Victims of Torture.

The Caritas Cologne Center for Victims of Torture provides counseling and therapy for medical rehabilitation, in particular psychotherapy and crisis intervention as well as various forms of support for orientation and integration in Germany. On "Cologne Volunteers Day," young refugees are given a guided tour of the online realm, and can obtain their "Internet driver's license." Based on their interests and prior knowledge, the young people are given basic training by RHAudio employees with crucial support from Ralf Plaschke (PopData.) The youngsters are also given a tour of the Cologne Media Library, where they can then use the skills they have acquired, free of charge.

Cologne Volunteers Day - – Germany’s first Volunteer Day specifically for businesses – was initiated in 2003 by the Kölner Freiwilligen Agentur e.V..
