Presenting: The Winners of the Radio Play Contest HÖRSPORT

2 days ago, the wait was finally over - on April 03rd, Knisterclub extra - the series of events in collaboration with BR Hörspiel and Bayern2 – presented the radio play competition HÖRSPORT on the theme of "Every day is sport" at the Volkstheater, as part of Munich’s Spring Book Week.
The 3 winning radio plays were:
1. Munich to go - Thomas Glatz
2. Zufallsbekanntschaften (Chance Acquaintances) - Juno Meinecke
3. FC Zweierbeziehung (FC One on One) - Rosa Parks
Munich to go - 9.56min.
... won the jury over with its choice of subject, its technical implementation and not least its brilliant narrator.
The play creatively picks up on the set subject "Every day is sport" - a sausage saleswoman at Munich's main train station (with a heavy Saxon accent) turns out to be a slightly different tourist guide.
She offers instant city tours of Munich to tourists in a hurry, which leaves everyone involved, and especially the listeners, breathless by the end.
Ten wonderfully eloquent minutes - amusing, absurd, and dotted with swipes at Munich’s self-image as Bavaria’s capital with a heart. An imaginative play on stereotypes that rides on the strength of the main character’s narration.
Zufallsbekanntschaften (Chance Acquaintances) - 13min.
… takes the sporting theme as its starting point for telling a "personal" story, a story from real life.
What should you do if you’re young and in love but your holiday flirt mercilessly tells you you’re too fat? You give in to the psychological pressure and do something you’d really rather not do – like take up sports.
The author knows all about the lousy compromises her female protagonists have to make – should you really take up sports for such a reason?
This radio play is told with such a healthy amount of self-irony that the jury couldn’t help but award it second prize. Not everyone manages to combine smoking and sport in such a likeable way. Nor does everyone manage to get 4 characters - male and female – to speak with distinct voices, especially if you are only one person equipped with headphones and a Walkman ...
FC Zweierbeziehung – FC One On One - 3min.
… portrays – with great wit and a subtle humor, or rather with some sneaky sportsmanship – the eternal battle of the sexes as a sports competition.
A three-minute tour de force that captures all the eternal madness of man and woman living together.
It’s a no-holds-barred fight with barging and pulling, tackling and fouling. At times the listener longs for a referee to sort them out.
It’s really a pity we were only granted three minutes of this one-on-one!
We would have liked a longer listen.
Fourth place was shared by the two radio plays "Vorspann" ("Credits") by Stephanie Raub and Leonie Grabler and "Rasenmäher" ("Lawnmower") by Sebastian Baum
The winner "Munich to go" received €500 for his radio play. The top four won great audiobook packages and the top three are also posted on the Internet platform audible.de.
