Random House Employees Walk The Length Of Great Britain For Charity
Employees from The Random House Group gathered for the second ‘Random Ramble’, walking the equivalent of the length of Great Britain – from Land’s End to John o’ Groats – to raise over £2,500 for their nominated charity Freedom from Torture (formerly the Medical Foundation).
Some 130 walkers set off from The Random House Group’s Ealing and Vauxhall Bridge Road offices walking seven miles each along the river. The ramblers met at a central point – The Black Lion pub in Hammersmith – where they received a well-deserved drink.
Employees from The Random House Group are invited to choose which charity the Group will support through an all staff vote. In June 2010 they chose Freedom from Torture (formerly the Medical Foundation) the only organization in the U.K. dedicated solely to the treatment of torture survivors. All proceeds from the day will go to Freedom from Torture with an aim to raise over £10,000 during the annual sponsorship period.
