Support For The Family Camp
Employees at the recently formed Bertelsmann subsidiary Be Accounting Services have donated €1,230 Euro to the German Stroke Foundation to support its upcoming Autumn Family Camp. The money for the donation was raised by selling food and raffle tickets at the company’s first summer party. It was presented to Dawabi by managing director Stefan Troßbach and works councils Jochen Schuster and Doris Neugebauer.
Each year, some 300 children in German suffer a stroke. The German Stroke Foundation supports the families in various ways, including by hosting several-day family camps, where they are able to take a break from their taxing everyday routine and find new courage for the future. For instance, the children attend drawing workshops where they are encouraged to use their paralytic hand. This triggers impulses in the brain that can have a positive effect on the recovery process. In the foundation’s experience, the results of these art workshops are amazingly powerful and expressive. Project manager Sabine Dawabi presented such a picture, by 9-year-old Tim from Mettmann, to the Be Accounting team as a thank-you for their donation.
Last year, Arvato Services, Direct Group and Corporate had merged the accounting departments of their German companies into a joint Shared Service Center: Be Accounting Services GmbH is located in Rheda-Wiedenbrück, a town in the Gütersloh district.
