Educational Award Digita 2012 For Brockhaus Audio Pen 'Ting'

The Brockhaus Ting Starter Set has won another award: after the Giga-Maus and the Comenius Medal, the set with the innovative audio pen has now received the German educational media award "Digita 2012". Bernd Althusmann, Lower Saxony's minister of culture, presented a total of nine Digita trophies on Wednesday at the educational trade fair Didacta in Hanover. The jury awarded the Brockhaus set for being the best "preschool learning offer". The experts from the educational administration, science and business stated, "Children are able to develop their motor skills, enhance their perception and further develop their vocabulary and speech."

With the Brockhaus Ting Starter Set, which consists of the book entitled "Mein erster Hör-Brockhaus" and the audio pen Ting, preschool children playfully expand their German vocabulary. In addition, they learn their first English words and sentences. Anke Braun, Director of the children's book editorial team of Wissenmedia: "The award enhances our program work. The combination of text, image and sound makes the audio Brockhaus especially comprehensive for preschool children. With Ting they set out on an acoustic journey of discovery. The audio pen produces “wow” effects in many places in the book." Wissenmedia will soon publish more Ting titles, among them an English primary school dictionary.

Since 1995, Digita, the German educational media award, has been honoring outstanding digital educational media that support learning and teaching in an exemplary way. Among the award winners are commercial companies, public institutions and private developers.
