Thinking Globally, Acting Locally – The New Arvato Environmental Report Is Here
For the fourth time, Arvato is offering detailed information about the corporate group's environmental impact with its environmental report. Readers not only can find comprehensive facts and figures on 56 pages but also information about "green" initiatives from all over the world and "green" business models of the individual strategic business units. Arvato's Corporate Communications published the report; Medienfabrik Gütersloh was responsible for the report's layout and production.
Since its environmental balance sheet 2008/2009 Arvato has been consistently working on improving its environmental impact and data collection for sustainability reporting. According to the division it has been successful because the environmental impact was sustainably reduced in many respects. The result offer many advantages: An environmentally conscious approach to business – conserving energy, recycling materials, making the best possible use of resources – is not only beneficial to the environment and future generations but also has positive effects on the cost side. "Responsible, sustainable behavior and economic success are two sides of the same coin," as Arvato states. Sustainability has been an integral part of corporate culture for decades.
As a globally active company, arvato devotes all of its innovative resources to making an effective contribution to sustainability. Since the 2008/2009 Arvato Environmental Report was published, the company has steadily upgraded its technology and expanded its expertise. It uses these resources to improve its products and services, with the goal of securing jobs and profitability, protecting the environment and making its customers more successful.
The employees play an important role: thanks to their commitment and good ideas Arvato has been able to undertake a number of green initiatives to improve its environmental impact and has developed green business models that help its customers reduce their resource consumption. Several examples of Arvato's projects are described in this report.
Transparency continues to be central to Arvato's fourth Environmental Report, which follows more closely the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) in describing environmental impacts. The result is increased quality and precision when reporting on sustainability issues. The Arvato Environmental Report can be directly ordered or downloaded at http://cr.arvato.com.
