Comenius Awards For Inmediaone, Scoyo And Super RTL
The "Gesellschaft für Pädagogik und Information" (Society for Pedagogy and Information - GPI) has bestowed its seal on multi-media educational offers by Inmediaone, Scoyo and Super RTL, thereby certifying them as being of high educational and media quality. Among other things the expert jury awarded its coveted "Comenius EduMedia Medal" for "outstanding ICT-based educational media" to Inmediaone’s "Wissens-Center," which includes Prescolaris and Scolaris. Wissen.de, the Brockhaus Grundschulwörterbuch Englisch (Brockhaus Primary School English Dictionary) with the Ting Audiopen, the Scoyo website for first- to fourth-grade students, and Super RTL’s "Toggolino Club" and "Toggo Clever Club" received the "Comenius EduMedia Seal."
"It contains exclusively presented topics from all over the world and a well-structured wealth of information," said Gerda Kysela-Schiemer of the Pädagogische Hochschule Wien (University of Education in Vienna) in her laudatory address about the Inmediaone Wissens-Center. "More than 300,000 keywords, an express service with approximately 6,000 prepared subjects, customized service, an online forum where burning questions are answered within 24 hours, and a language service are available for those thirsting for knowledge."
"I’m delighted that such different learning and training offers from our company were recognized: a direct sales product, a trade book title, and our online magazine wissen.de -," says Inmediaone Managing Director Christoph Hünermann. "This validates the high quality standards we set for all our products and content - regardless of the distribution channel."
The Scoyo online learning platform was awarded a "Comenius Seal" in the "didactic multimedia products - elementary education" category for its offering for first- to fourth-grade students. Scoyo’s parent company Super RTL was also awarded a "Comenius Seal" for its "Toggolino Club" and "Toggo Clever Club" in the "general multimedia products" category.
For 17 years the GPI has honored outstanding pedagogically, creatively and content-related ICT-supported educational media. The seals and medals are to serve as guides in identifying appropriate educational media that promise successful learning. The judges make their decisions following a scientific evaluation in a vendor-neutral assessment process based on quality criteria developed by the GPI Institute for Education and Media.
This year's awards ceremony at the Haus des Deutschen Handwerks in Berlin on Jun 22 was attended by numerous editors, media producers and representatives of educational institutions. Publishers and institutions from Europe, the United States and China had applied for the coveted awards. The international jury of media experts awarded a total of 159 Comenius Seals and 25 Comenius Medals.
