RTL Interactive Signs Charter For The Protection Of Children On The Internet

RTL Interactive will join the circle of supporters of the initiative entitled “Sicher online gehen – Kinderschutz im Internet” (“Go online safely – Child protection on the Internet”). As the company announced, the charter will be signed shortly. RTL Interactive, a subsidiary of the Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland and in charge of digital, interactive and transaction-based business sectors, makes “a clear commitment to enforcing the protection of children on the Internet” according to the company.

“Sicher online gehen – Kinderschutz im Internet”, a joint initiative of the government, states and industry aiming to promote an efficient protection of children from harmful content on the Internet, complements existing initiatives such as “Ein Netz für Kinder” (“A web for children”) and its search engine “Frag Finn” (“Ask Finn”). The special goal of this initiative is to support parents with regard to the media education of their children and to open up safe paths onto the web for them. An essential element of these efforts will be information about technological solutions on the Internet.

A TV campaign with a wide scope is being launched this week and calls on parents to accompany their children on their path onto the Internet. For this purpose it will refer to existing technological support options. The Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland supports this campaign with broadcasting spots on the channels RTL, Vox, Super RTL, RTL Nitro, RTL Crime, Passion, RTL Living, and the video-on-demand offers RTL Now and Vox Now. Banner ads have been informing people about the “Sicher online gehen – Kinderschutz im Internet” initiative for several weeks on numerous websites of the Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland.
