Arvato Cottbus Receives The ‘Brandenburgischer Ausbildungspreis 2012’

Last Thursday, the Ministry of Employment, Social Affairs, Women and Family of the state of Brandenburg presented the “Brandenburgische Ausbildungspreis 2012” award for training people with disabilities to the outsourcing service company Arvato Direct Services Cottbus in Potsdam. On behalf of the ministry, Jürgen Dusel presented the award to Nancy Wildner, the Deputy Site Manager of Arvato in Cottbus. The trainees Dominik Geisler and Dorota Czosnykowska accepted the 1,000 euro award.
Arvato Direct Services Cottbus offers young people with disabilities training as service professionals or business people in dialog marketing. The goal is to offer them employment after the training. Many are happy to accept this offer. The young people with disabilities feel comfortable in the company and realize that their performance is appreciated. This successful integration is also important for Brandenburg as a place to work. Here, too, the need for specialists will grow in the future, as Jürgen Dusel explained in his laudatory speech. Arvato Direct Services makes a contribution by training young people with disabilities to meet this need in the future. 115 of the Arvato employees in Cottbus have disabilities. With a total of over 1,400 employees, this equals 8.14 percent of the staff.
The “Brandenburgischer Ausbildungspreis 2012” is based on an initiative by the partners of the “Brandenburgischer Ausbildungskonsens” vocational training consensus from the year 2005. It is sponsored with 20,000 euro from the European Social Fund (ESF) and the consensus partners. Minister President Matthias Platzeck is the patron of the award.
