Two RTL Radio France Journalists Win Awards

The jury of the prestigious “Prix Varenne de la radio” had to evaluate 72 reportages in order to ultimately select the best five. Among them are the works of two RTL Radio journalists: Anne Le Henaff and Gwendoline Debono.

The declared goal of the “Fondation Varenne” foundation is to promote the press and communication work. The radio award honors the profession of radio journalists and the quality and relevance of journalistic work.

Anne Le Henaff receives the award for her reportage “Vivre avec une maladie d’Alzheimer” (“Living with Alzheimer’s disease”). The 36 year-old has been working for RTL Radio since 2001. She started as a news presenter and has been responsible for the agriculture and health segment for the past four year.

Gwendoline Debono wins for her reportage “Azaz, le prix de la première victoire” (“Azaz, the price of the first victory”). The 24 year-old foreign correspondent of RTL Radio reported about the crisis in Greece, the famine in the north of Kenya and the civil war in Syria. This year, on 29 October, she won the “Prix Louise Weiss du journalism Européen” for her reportage “Crise Grecque: L’extrême droite en embuscade”.

The awards will be presented on 12 December in the foundation’s rooms in Paris under the chairmanship of author Érik Orsenna
