Award For Promoters Of Dual Vocational Training In Spain
Spain’s economy is in crisis and, with more than half of all Spaniards under the age of 25 currently unemployed, young people are especially impacted. Not least for this reason, Fundación Bertelsmann in cooperation with Aldi presented a pilot project for dual vocational training last year . Now, the Fundación along with other promoters of dual vocational training have won an award in Madrid.
Due to ongoing strikes outside of ministry of health and blocked roads, not all of the invited guests were able to get to the award presentation at the Caixa Forum on time. However, the event organized by the media group “Grupo Siena”, which is specialized in educational issues, was festive and moving according to the Fundación. Alongside Secretary of State Montserrat Gomendia, member of the Fundación Bertelsmann’s advisory council, Princess Letizia of Asturias was in attendance; a while ago, she took over the patronage for the “Grupo Siena”. The President of the German Chamber of Commerce, José Luis López-Schuemmer, accepted the award for the dual vocational training in Spain on behalf of all of the participants.
