Antena 3 And Cruz Roja Launch Relief Project
Since the onset of the economic crisis in Spain, the newspapers in the country have repeatedly reported about evictions – more than 400,000 families have been evicted as of mid-January. Today, the Spanish television channel Antena 3 and Cruz Roja, the Spanish Red Cross, are launching a relief campaign for people who have already lost their homes or are in danger of losing them. The campaign is part of the program “Ahora Más Que Nunca” (“Now more than ever”) initiated by the Red Cross; Antena 3 will intensively accompany the campaign until 24 February.
The private channel will use all communication channels available to request donations with the aim being to help almost 3,000 families keep their homes. The donations will go directly to the Red Cross. Along with cash donations, non-cash and food donations are also being accepted. The radio stations Onda Cero and Europa FM of Grupo Antena 3 are also accompany the campaign with regular requests for donations; Facebook and Twitter will also be used to support the campaign.
In the week from 18-24 February, all of the winnings of the game shows “La Ruleta de la Suerte” and “Ahora caigo” will be doubled; special editions of “Atrapa un millón” and “Tu cara me suena” will be broadcast, with all of the prize money being donated to the Red Cross. In addition, a special charity gala will take place, during which a hotline will be set up to accept donations.
