Children's Magazine 'Geo Ado' Supports Paris Hospitals, Celebrates 100,000 Sold Copies
The Prisma Presse magazine "Geo Ado" has been offering knowledge about geography, history, ethnology, and biology to young "Geo" readers in France in an entertaining and playful way for three years now. In the coming months the magazine will not only inform and fascinate its regular readers but also all children and youth who find themselves in the waiting rooms of France's biggest hospital, the "Hôpital de La Pitié-Salpêtrière." The publisher has offered to generously provide "Geo Ado" issues to the hospital. This commitment is part of a charity campaign for the benefit of children and youth in Paris hospitals, which "Geo Ado" launched in December.
In addition, the magazine will now fascinate young readers in the Paris hospital and all other curious "Geo Ado" fans with a revised magazine concept. From now on, two pages of the magazine will be dedicated to a profession of the future in the new category "La fiche métier" (The Job File). "Geo Ado" becomes even more topical in the new category "Infos Presse," in which the young magazine intends to help readers to understand topical information and familiarize them with the big issues of the world with the assistance of illustrations. Moreover, "Geo Ado" inspires participation and invites its readers to write reviews of multimedia products including films, books, and music.
With the new content, the editorial team is thanking its readers, whose number increased by 2.1 percent in the 2004/05 season compared with last year. In the just ended season, "Geo Ado" sold more than 76,000 issues per month on average, with more than 100,000 copies of the July and August issues sold.
