Prisma Media Buys A Stake In French Video Marketer ‘AdVideum’

Prisma Media, the French Gruner + Jahr subsidiary, is buying a stake in AdVideum, France’s leading video marketer. Prisma Media’s involvement will accelerate AdVideum’s growth, a G+J press release said yesterday, while also significantly expanding Prisma Media’s strong market position in digital marketing. The investment in AdVideum follows Prisma Media’s acquisitions of the websites hellocoton.fr, matvpratque.com, siandso.com, the digital marketer Pcomme Performance, and a shareholding in the mobile marketer Mobvalue.

After four years of strong organic growth, AdVideum has established itself as the market leader in the French video market. AdVideum exclusively markets over 300 websites and has developed and launched offers for contextual in-stream videos in multi-screen technology – with more than 120 million video downloads per month - as well as offers like Maxbrand TV, In-read and recently a TV/Internet synchronization service.

"By investing in AdVideum, Prisma Media is resolutely expanding its digital business as part of Gruner + Jahr’s overall strategy and is thereby further strengthening its market position in ad sales," explains Rolf Heinz, President of Prisma Media and G+J International Europe. "Video is the ad sales sector that is currently seeing the highest growth rates. Prisma Media itself has a number of video sites and will significantly improve the monetization of this content by acquiring a stake in AdVideum."
