He is the inventor of Google’s self-driving car, professor of Artificial Intelligence at Stanford University, and founder of the education startup Udacity, in which Bertelsmann owns a stake. In the U.S., Sebastian Thrun is often referred to as a “German wunderkind.” In the latest episode of the Bertelsmann Business Podcast, he responds to questions in conversation with Isabelle Körner. “Artificial intelligence should make our everyday lives and processes better. Personalized advertising and speech recognition are opportunities, and nothing to be afraid of.” His company Udacity has the mission to facilitate access to education around the world. Bertelsmann and Udacity will be awarding 50,000 tech scholarships over the next three years as part of a joint education initiative.
