Bryan Ferry, Adel Tawil and Patricia Kelly Sing for A Good Cause at the ‘Rosenball 2018’

Charity gala for German Stroke Foundation announces attractive stage lineup

The more than 600 guests of the “Rosenball 2018” in aid of the Stiftung Deutsche Schlaganfall-Hilfe (German Stroke Foundation) will be treated to a top-notch stage program on May 5 at the InterContinental Hotel in Berlin: British music icon Bryan Ferry, Berlin singer and producer Adel Tawil and Patricia Kelly, a member of the legendary “Kelly Family” and successful solo artist, will perform live at the event. Bertelsmann is pleased that Adel Tawil („So soll es bleiben“, "Lieder", „Ist da jemand“) has taken on a stage act at short notice. With enduring chart successes, Adel Tawil is one of the most popular artists of our time. He personifies the authenticity he conveys to his fans through personal lyrics and a sound that is always up to date. Bryan Ferry (“Don’t Stop The Dance,” “Slave To Love”) celebrated immediate and sensational success in the early 1970s with his group Roxy Music, and has taken his place as one of the most iconic and innovative singers and lyricists in popular music. Patricia Kelly looks back on a brilliant career with the “Kelly Family” with numerous number one hits, more than 20 million albums sold, and 48 gold and platinum records. She now gives more than 60 concerts and performances a year as a solo artist.

This year the Rosenball, which is hosted every two years by Liz Mohn and Bertelsmann CEO Thomas Rabe, is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the German Stroke Foundation, founded by Liz Mohn. The foundation is engaged in numerous initiatives for education, prevention and better care of stroke patients.

About the German Stroke Foundation
Each year, close to 270,000 people in Germany suffer a stroke. Stroke is the third leading cause of death in Germany, and the most common cause of disability in adulthood. The German Stroke Foundation was founded by Liz Mohn in 1993. Independent and devoted to the common good, it is dedicated to its constitutional mandate to prevent strokes and contribute to improving the care of stroke patients. It develops innovative treatment concepts and makes an important contribution to improving the quality of care by issuing certifications for special stroke units. Approximately 200 doctors volunteer their time to support the awareness-building and information efforts of the Foundation, under whose umbrella more than 450 stroke support groups have also been set up nationwide.
