Bertelsmann companies are again among “Germany’s Best Training Companies” this year. In a study conducted by the business magazine “Capital”, Bertelsmann, RTL Deutschland, Mohn Media, Riverty and Penguin Random House Verlagsgruppe received top scores in the categories “Training” and “Dual Studies”.

If young people are interested in completing a training course or pursuing dual studies, they are naturally open to recommendations of suitable companies. For many years, the ranking “Germany’s Best Training Companies” of the business magazine “Capital” – which is part of RTL Deutschland via Gruner + Jahr – has been a good source for such recommendations. Bertelsmann companies are again among the hottest recommendations in this year’s ranking: Bertelsmann’s Corporate Center in Gütersloh with its Vocational College, RTL Deutschland in Cologne, Mohn Media in Gütersloh, Riverty in Baden-Baden, and Penguin Random House Verlagsgruppe in Munich achieved top scores with four or even five out of five stars.

Bertelsmann’s Corporate Education achieved the maximum score of 25, winning five stars in the overall ranking in the category “Training” with an average of 145 trainees, and in the category “Dual Studies” with 214 students. With its 84 trainees, Mohn Media also scored 25 points and five stars in the category “Training”. RTL Deutschland (102 reported trainees and 19 dual students) achieved 20 points and four stars and 18 points and four stars respectively. Riverty (43 trainees and 25 dual students) also scored 20 points and four stars and 19 points and four stars respectively.

“Offer training at the highest level”

“Training is and remains one of the most important possibilities for companies to counteract the shortage of skilled workers,” said Klaus Röttger, Head of Corporate Education at Bertelsmann. “To be successful in this area as a company, we are required to offer training at the highest level to the young generation. We are very happy that not only has our commitment been honored as part of this study but also that of the in-company trainers.”

The seventh round of the “Germany’s Best Training Companies” study was realized by “Capital” in cooperation with the talent platform Ausbildung.de and the HR marketing experts of the Territory subsidiary Embrace. According to “Capital”, the study aims to “map out the success factors for training and dual studies in Germany”. The studies took place from mid-March until mid-May. Companies with at least five trainees or three dual students were eligible to participate. In total, 567 companies – Dax listed groups and public authorities as well as medium-sized companies and crafts businesses with a total of almost three million employees, more than 84,000 trainees and almost 18,000 dual students returned the questionnaire with more than 90 questions. This year, a special focus was on the teaching competences of the companies, according to “Capital”. Several new questions considered roles, responsibilities and core competencies of the training of in-house employees.
