Bertelsmann wants to offer people with disabilities opportunities in working life, promote their employment in companies and integrate them as full-fledged employees in the respective company. At the same time, however, as the group representative for severely disabled employees of a globally operating media group, we want to raise awareness among all people for active inclusion and recognise special achievements.

The Launch of the New “Inclusion Action Plan”

(German video version only) The “Inclusion Action Plan 2026–2030” was a central topic at the annual conference of Bertelsmann’s representatives for employees with severe disabilities, held in mid-June 2026 in Gütersloh. A little over a year after a series of workshops—featuring experts from representatives for employees with severe disabilities, inclusion officers, colleagues from Human Resources and Corporate Responsibility, and leaders from various departments—laid the groundwork for its development, Bertelsmann’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Immanuel Hermreck, officially launched the new action plan before an audience of approximately 80 representatives for employees with severe disabilities.

There are many good examples of inclusion. A variety of short videos show how German employees with disabilities play an important role in contributing to Bertelsmann’s success. At this time, these videos are only available in German language.
