To mark this year’s Earth Day on April 22, Penguin Young Readers and Ford Motor Company in the US organized two events for children and families to highlight the importance of electric vehicles. The events were part of the “Party for the Planet” program at the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, Rhode Island, on April 21 and at Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut, on April 22. At both events, an all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E was on display, wrapped in artwork from the recently published children’s book “Eco: The Little Electric Taxi” (Penguin Workshop), bringing the adorable character from the book by Deb Adamson and Patrick Corrigan to life. An environmentally conscious take on the classic vehicle picture book, “Eco” introduces young readers to a small electric taxi that uses its environmentally friendly capabilities to save the day. At both locations, guests could purchase copies of “Eco,” have their books signed by author Deb Adamson, and pose for photos with the Eco-wrapped Mustang Mach-E. Author Deb Adamson said: “Thank you to Ford Motor Company for helping bring Eco to vehicle-loving children and families through this fun life-size Eco/Mustang Mach-E! This exciting partnership will help introduce more readers to Eco and the important environmental message that electric vehicles are one way we can all work to keep our home planet safe, clean, and quiet.”
