Joshua Kimmich, captain of the German national football team, and his wife Lina support “Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern”. As project patrons of the foundation and with their own “Glaub An Dich Stiftung” foundation, they are committed to the construction of a new children’s shelter in Munich. In the house, which will be operated by Kinderschutzbund München, the Munich child protection association, children who can no longer stay with their parents will be provided with a safe place. This includes children who have been severely neglected, experienced serious violence or abuse for years. With the support of RTL viewers, the new shelter in Munich is set to become a reality. During the “RTL-Spendenmarathon” with Wolfram Kons in November 2026, Lina and Joshua Kimmich, who have four children, plan to present this cause close to their hearts. Joshua Kimmich said: “It’s all about giving each child a perspective for the future. But it is also about raising awareness of this issue so that it resonates with people and reaches policymakers, so that sustainable change within the system will happen. And so that we do not end up in a situation where children – supposedly the most vulnerable in our system – are the ones who suffer from it.” Lina Kimmich added: “I wish that we can manage to make even a small change in the system; that the protection of children will gain more visibility and become a higher priority. And for now, I hope that we will be able to raise a lot of money so we can build a house for these children and give them a home.” Wolfram Kons, Chairman of “Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern”, said: “Lina and Joshua Kimmich’s long-standing and passionate commitment to these children has extremely impressed us. Therefore, we want to sustainably support the ‘Glaub An Dich Stiftung’ foundation in its valuable work with Stiftung RTL – a double pass of help for children in need.”
