RTL Radio Deutschland is repositioning its national radio station, RTL Radio. For the first time, the station is bringing together RTL’s content, personalities, and successful formats under a single national live-audio brand while introducing a modern feel-good music format. RTL Radio aims to bring the positive spirit of the RTL brand into people’s daily lives while offering high-quality journalism through “news you can use,” relevant information, and service. RTL Radio is available throughout Germany via DAB+, RTLRadio.de, the RTL Radio app, cable, satellite, and all major radio streaming platforms.
Going forward, RTL’s successful brands will also be adapted for radio on RTL Radio. The lineup includes daily segments from “Punkt 12” with Katja Burkard, “RTL Exclusiv” with Frauke Ludowig, and the hourly news from “RTL Aktuell.” The schedule will also feature numerous daily segments as well as audio coverage of hit formats like “Let’s Dance,” “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!,” and the “RTL Charity Marathon.”
‘Die ultimative Chart Show’ comes to radio
The relaunch also brings a premiere: “Die ultimative Chart Show” (The Ultimate Chart Show), Germany’s most successful music show, is coming to radio. Oliver Geissen will host the program exclusively for RTL Radio. Beginning August 8, it will air every Saturday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, “Deutschland am Morgen” – the radio adaptation of the joint RTL and NTV morning program – will kick off the day. Simon Kober will host the show on RTL Radio. Sarah Oswald (NTV/RTL) will become the first presenter from RTL’s television team to appear daily on RTL Radio. Additional well-known presenters will join the lineup over time. The close connection to the RTL brand world is further reinforced by the familiar audio branding featuring the slogan “Welcome Home” and RTL’s signature station voice, Patrick Linke.
‘People love our strong brands’
“People love our strong brands, our personalities, and their stories,” said Inga Leschek, Chief Content Officer at RTL Deutschland. “RTL Radio now brings that unique RTL experience to live audio and creates new ways for audiences to engage with our best brands. This allows us to create additional touchpoints with our audiences throughout the day through familiar voices and the content that inspires millions of people.”
‘The RTL way of life’
Nina Gerhardt, CEO of RTL Radio Deutschland, added: “With RTL Radio, we are creating a national programming offering that brings the RTL way of life to listeners every day. The station combines the strengths of our entire entertainment universe – from popular content and well-known personalities to our tremendous reach. RTL Radio will become a daily companion for millions of people and a central pillar of our growth strategy.”
