11 Million Books In October Alone
VVA is delighted with record deliveries for both books and toys.
The Arvato company Vereinigte Verlagsauslieferung (VVA) is celebrating a record October – in a record year. In October alone, the Gütersloh site an der Autobahn (Reinhard-Mohn-Straße) for the first time delivered 11 million books, which makes October the month with the highest revenue in the company’s 66 years of history. It is also already clear that VVA will break the 50 million mark for toys delivered for the first time this year.
The figures from the strong month of October will most likely also outperform the holiday season business, as VVA announced. The background was the diversity of popular book titles published in and shortly before October. The new Asterix volume, Dan Brown’s “The Secret of Secrets”, Ken Follet’s “Stonehenge”, and Hera Lind’s “Stille Heldin” were particularly popular. For the rest of the year, orders are expected to be evenly distributed across all 100,000 active titles again, according to the company.
“Pokémon” sets toy record
The Verl site in the Gütersloh region is also on track to set a record. It will break the mark of 50 million toys delivered for the first time this year. The site benefits primarily from the “Pokémon” boom. As a partner of Amigo, the owner of the “Pokémon” distribution rights, VVA exclusively distributes Pokémon cards throughout Germany from there. VVA in Verl is already preparing for a higher demand, given the fact that Pokémon will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year.
Vereinigte Vertragsauslieferung (VVA) was established 66 years ago – at the time under the name “Kommissionshaus Buch + Ton”. Over the years, this business developed into the international logistics company Arvato. In addition to its sites in Verl and Gütersloh, Verlegerdienst in Munich is also part of VVA; here, too, business figures are rising as several new clients have been acquired in recent years.
