Bertelsmann Focuses on Use of AI in Video Production

  • First Video Production Day in Berlin with around 400 participants and top-class external partners
  • CFO Rolf Hellermann: “We want to use the rapidly growing opportunities opened up by AI as best as possible, and responsibly.”
Berlin, April 29, 2025 – Bertelsmann is decisively advancing the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in its creative businesses. At the beginning of the year, the international media, services, and education company had announced its strategic collaboration with Open AI to expand the use of AI across the Group. Today, 180 representatives of Bertelsmann’s content businesses are meeting in Berlin for the “AI for Creatives – Video Production Day 2025” AI summit. Another 200 participants will follow the conference via live stream.

In Berlin, 25 internal and external AI professionals will speak on the latest developments and possibilities of AI applications in video production. The event provides another opportunity for Bertelsmann to interact intensively with its AI partners, which include Adobe, Elevenlabs, Google, Nvidia, Open AI, Twelve Labs, and Runway. This inaugural Video Production Day is organized by the Bertelsmann AI Hub, which defines the focus of AI work across the Group and leverages synergies between the businesses.

Rolf Hellermann, Bertelsmann CFO, Chairman of the Tech & Data Advisory Board, and host of the conference, commented: “Artificial intelligence holds enormous potential for Bertelsmann, which we are identifying and leveraging across all our businesses. We are using AI not only to drive efficiency, but also to foster innovation and creativity. That is why it is so important that our international content businesses network closely with each other and with our tech partners from around the world, as we are doing here today in Berlin, so that they can use the rapidly growing opportunities opened up by AI as best as possible, and responsibly. This is particularly relevant in video production, which is the focus of this summit.”

The one-day conference at the Bertelsmann Unter den Linden 1 in Berlin will focus on the use of AI in the conception and creation of new content, in the production and post-production of video content, and finally, in content marketing. AI case studies and possible applications will be presented by managers from Bertelsmann businesses including RTL Deutschland, the video production company Fremantle, and the French Groupe M6, as well as by partners with whom Bertelsmann is continuously developing the use of AI.
