BMG Launches Sync+
The global service unites Commercial Sync, Production Music, and Media Services under one brand.
BMG has launched Sync+, a new global service that brings together its Commercial Sync, Production Music, and Media Services businesses under one integrated brand. “Sync+ combines BMG’s world-class repertoire, creative expertise, and strategic music services to deliver a seamless, end-to-end music-for-media solution for clients, artists, and partners worldwide,” the company said in a statement.
As the first global music company to offer such a distinct service, BMG is strengthening coordination across the regions in which the Bertelsmann subsidiary operates, while enabling faster, clearer, and more consistent creative and licensing processes. The new service also marks a major milestone in BMG’s strategy to further develop and expand its music-for-media business. According to BMG, Sync+ allows artists, songwriters, and composers to benefit from faster pitching, broader placement opportunities, and stronger international alignment across music campaigns. Internally, Sync+ positions BMG’s global teams, shared systems, and marketing resources to deliver smarter, faster, and more collaborative outcomes.
‘A unified, tech-enabled platform’
“With Sync+, we’ve built a truly unified, tech-enabled platform for music in media where creative collaboration, data insights, and rights expertise all work together,” said Johannes von Schwarzkopf, Chief Strategy Officer of BMG. “By giving brands, filmmakers, and creators one unified gateway to BMG’s full global repertoire and services, we’re making it easier than ever to find the right music, while opening new opportunities for our artists and songwriters around the world.”
The new service gives clients access to BMG’s repertoire of more than three million songs and recordings, over 200,000 exclusive production music tracks, and a full range of bespoke creative services. In addition, Sync+ offers an integrated set of added capabilities, including consultancy, talent partnerships, sonic branding, and original compositions.
Sync refers to the business of licensing music for use in media such as advertising. Production Music covers music used in television and film productions, trailers, video games, commercials, and many other media formats – either selected to fit specific needs or composed specifically for a project.
