Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland has secured exclusive rights to 17 UEFA Euro 2024 matches from Deutsche Telekom. The agreement covers the broadcast of 14 matches during the group stage, two round of 16 matches and one quarterfinal, as free-TV exclusives on RTL and as live streams on TV Now. Mediengruppe RTL is also entitled to report on all 51 matches of the 2024 European Championship across all channels and platforms.

When the European Football Championship in Germany kicks off in June 2024, RTL will be in on the action. Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland and Deutsche Telekom have agreed to the sublicensing of exclusive rights to 17 UEFA Euro 2024 matches. The agreement covers the broadcast of 14 matches from the group stage, two round of 16 finals and one quarterfinal as free-TV exclusives on RTL and as live streams on TV Now. The package also comprises extensive highlights as well as on-demand and news access rights that will enable Mediengruppe RTL to report on all 51 matches of the 2024 European Championship across all channels and platforms.

“It was only in November that our partnership with Deutsche Telekom kicked off with the integration of TV Now Premium into the Magenta TV product,” says Bernd Reichart, CEO Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland. “I am very pleased that after just a few months, we are jointly driving forward our cooperation in the area of content as well. With our long years of expertise in the live broadcasting and journalistic editing of major sporting events, we were the only commercial provider to win the contract, and will be presenting a total of 17 UEFA Euro 2024 matches on free TV on RTL and as live streams on TV Now. The European Championship in this country will be a great soccer festival that millions of fans will be able to experience live with us, whether at home or on the go.”

The UEFA Euro 2024 matches complement Mediengruppe RTL’s extensive soccer lineup. Besides the international matches of the national team, this also includes the UEFA Europa League and the newly created UEFA Europa Conference League. RTL will show the German national team’s next three qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup before the end of this month. The first match, against Iceland, takes place on March 25 at the Schauinsland-Reisen Arena in Duisburg. The match against Romania in Bucharest follows on March 28, before the DFB team finally faces North Macedonia again in Duisburg on March 31. Kick-off is at 8:45 p.m. for all three events. RTL holds the exclusive TV rights to the games of the German men’s national team in the European Qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The Cologne-based station will show a total of twelve DFB team encounters this year.
