RTL Deutschland Launches Germany’s First ‘All Inclusive’ Entertainment Package
RTL+ is now offering the “All Inclusive” entertainment package in an app at a price of €12.99 per month. Included in the package: series, reality shows, live sports, movies, music, audiobooks, and podcasts. Magazine titles from Gruner + Jahr will complete the cross-media content offering in the weeks ahead. Numerous new content highlights from all media genres will become available by the end of the year.
RTL Deutschland is now bundling all media genres into one subscription and app on RTL+. According to the company, it has successfully launched Germany’s first “all-inclusive” entertainment package, which will be rolled-out successively to all the major devices and smart TVs in the coming weeks. All subscribers to the “RTL+ Max” package will soon be able to access an extensive range of cross-media content via the mobile app and the web for €12.99 per month. The package includes over 55,000 hours of video and TV entertainment, more than 120 million music titles – i.e. all the catalogs and artists commonly used in music streaming – more than 100,000 audiobooks and audio plays from top publishers and authors, and several thousand podcast formats, including around 200 successful RTL+ original productions. The offering will soon be completed with magazine titles from Gruner + Jahr.
‘Major milestone’
“The launch of our ‘All Inclusive’ entertainment offer is a major milestone,” comments RTL Deutschland CEO Thomas Rabe. “We know from recent studies that when choosing streaming services, users pay close attention to where they can get the greatest variety of content at the most attractive price. So our multimedia app, which offers all media genres in one app and at a price of €12.99, comes at just the right time.” Matthias Dang, Co-CEO RTL Deutschland, said: “Bundling is a big buzzword right now, which is why we’re proud to have launched the first multimedia app this week. Our teams have done some real groundbreaking work and will continue to expand the app in the weeks and months ahead. RTL+ is already the leading German streaming service with about 4.5 million subscribers. We are convinced that thanks to the partnerships with Deezer, Penguin Random House and Telekom, as well as our ‘All Inclusive’ entertainment package, we will secure a firm place among the top 3 streaming services available in Germany.”
The launch of the All Inclusive Entertainment package means that subscribers can look forward to numerous highlights from across all media genres in the coming months. RTL+ will be offering original drama highlights through the end of the year. They include the mini-series “Club Las Piranjas” with Hape Kerkeling, the thriller series “Die Quellen des Bösen” with Fahri Yardim, the series “Gute Freunde – Der Aufstieg des FC Bayern” (Good Friends – The Rise of FC Bayern), which was screened to great acclaim at the Munich Film Festival, the feature film “Entführt – 14 Tage Überleben” (Kidnapped – 14 Days of Survival) and the new edition of the series featuring the iconic red-haired imp Pumuckl, “Neue Geschichten vom Pumuckl. In the reality sector, new seasons of the successful dating shows “Are you the One? Realitystars in Love” and “Princess Charming” will soon be streamable. TV highlights such as RTL’s recently launched “Die Verräter” and “Das Sommerhaus der Stars” will be available on RTL+ even before they are broadcast on TV. And in sports, users will be treated to live broadcasts of UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League matches, as well as – for the first time – NFL games.
A new magazine section
In the music streaming section of the app, RTL+ subscribers can discover the whole world of music streaming with over 120 million songs thanks to the partnership with Deezer, including hits and albums by German artists such as Apache 207, Peter Fox, Sido and Helene Fischer, as well as top international acts such as Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Pink and Miley Cyrus. In addition, there are thousands of curated playlists reflecting various genres or moods, as well as exclusive RTL+ playlists, available only on RTL+, to match topics and content highlights in the video section. In addition, exclusive RTL+ sessions with top artists – as video and audio streams – will provide unique live concert experiences for watching at home or while traveling.
In the podcast section of RTL+, users can access fresh episodes of top podcasts such as “Bratwurst und Baklava,” “Dick & Doof” and “Verbrechen von nebenan” free of charge and in advance. At the end of August, one of the most popular RTL+ formats, the Bushido podcast “Im Bett mit Anna-Maria und Anis Ferchichi,” will return from its summer break. The audiobooks section on RTL+ is also growing. In addition to many new releases from the fall programs of the publishers represented, users can look forward to the audiobook of the mini-series “Club Las Piranjas” just in time for the launch of the series. By redeeming a credit included in their subscription, they will also have exclusive access to the Penguin Random House Verlagsgruppe audiobooks “Hello New York” and “Lux,” which will be available on RTL+ in the fall. In the newly created magazine section, streamers will soon be able to enjoy digital editions of the G+J magazines “Brigitte,” “Gala,” “Schöner Wohnen,” “Häuser,” “Couch,” “Geolino,” and “Geolino Mini.”
The RTL+ rate structure will not change. The streaming service offers subscription models for every requirement. In addition to the free tier, there will still be a premium subscription for €6.99. The complete “All Inclusive” entertainment offer can be accessed by subscribers to the Max package for €12.99 and the Family package for €18.99 (all prices per month).
