Bertelsmann is supporting a relief project of the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia for the Ukrainian oblast Dnipropetrovsk. The company is donating 150 refurbished laptops worth €25,000 for students in Dnipropetrovsk. The computers are already on their way to the relief organization Blau-Gelbes Kreuz Deutsch-Ukrainischer Verein e.V. in Cologne, which will organize the transport to Ukraine.
Region strongly affected by Russian attacks
“We are very pleased to be able to support the state government with this important relief project,” said Bertelsmann CEO Thomas Rabe. “It helps where need is great, because Dnipropetrovsk has taken in many Ukrainian refugees, and the student can learn exclusively digitally or hybrid due to the ongoing enormous dangers due to the war in their country. The laptops will be rendering them good services.”
In February 2023, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia entered a regional partnership with the Ukrainian oblast Dnipropetrovsk. The region in the southeast of Ukraine is strongly affected by Russian attacks on civil and military infrastructure. Therefore, the key concern of the state government is to cover the oblast’s acute need for help and deliver targeted humanitarian relief.
