Three BMG Songwriters Recognized With MOBO Award Nominations
Songwriters K-Trap, FKA Twigs, and Sherelle are in the running for BMG.
BMG songwriters K-Trap, FKA Twigs, and Sherelle have all been recognized in this year’s MOBO Awards shortlist. K-Trap is nominated for “Best Drill Act”, while FKA Twigs and Sherelle are both up for “Best Electronic/Dance Act”.
According to BMG, 2025 marked a standout year for all three songwriters. K-Trap released the well-received “When The Dust Settles”, continuing his powerful reflections on a journey from the streets to mainstream success. FKA Twigs unveiled her acclaimed third and fourth albums, “Eusexua” and “Eusexua: Afterglow”, and was shortlisted for the prestigious Mercury Prize. DJ Sherelle further cemented her reputation as a leading force in high-energy dance music with her debut album “With a Vengeance”. Alongside extensive international touring, she received major accolades, including DJ Mag’s Breakthrough Producer award, hosted shows on BBC Radio spotlighting fast-paced electronic genres.
The MOBO Awards – MOBO stands for music of Black origin – have been conveyed since 1996 and celebrate excellence in music and culture of Black origin. The origin, ethnicity or nationality of the artists does is irrelevant. This year, the MOBO Awards will take place in Manchester for the first time; winners will be announced on March 26.
