Kylie Minogue announces new album and world tour

If the name is anything to go by, the new album from BMG music star Kylie Minogue is also set for a successful launch: "Tension II" is the name of the album announced for October 18, which follows on from "Tension" from 2023. And for the coming year, the artist is planning a tour around the globe – her biggest since 2011.

Her album "Tension," released in 2023, was a huge success worldwide—it reached number one in the charts in the UK and her home country of Australia, among others, and made it into the top 10 in numerous other countries. Now, Australian-British pop singer Kylie Minogue, who has been signed to BMG since 2017, has announced her next album: It is titled "Tension II" and is set to be released on October 18 via BMG. The music star will also be performing live again: Minogue's "Tension Tour" will take her to cities around the world next year.

"The 'Tension' era was very special to me," says the artist. "I can't possibly leave it behind just yet. Welcome to Tension II." The album comprises 13 songs, full of electronic sounds and dancefloor anthems. The nine brand-new studio recordings include the dance hit "Edge of Saturday Night" featuring The Blessed Madonna, as well as collaborations with Orville Peck, Bebe Rexha & Tove Lo, and Sia. The lead single from "Tension II" is "Lights Camera Action," which will be released this Friday, September 27.

Biggest tour since 2011

According to Minogue's management, the "Tension Tour" announced for 2025 is set to be her biggest tour since 2011. It will begin in Australia, then move on to Asia and the UK in May. Further countries and dates, including in Europe and North and South America, are to be announced in the coming weeks.

In July, Kylie Minogue recorded her new single, "My Oh My," with songwriters Bebe Rexha and Tove Lo and released it through BMG—the track is also included on "Tension II." This year, Kylie Minogue took home the Global Icon Award at the Brit Awards, won a Grammy for her hit "Padam Padam" from "Tension," attended the Met Gala, completed her first Las Vegas residency, and released the song "Midnight Ride" with Orville Peck and Diplo. Over the course of her music career, Kylie Minogue has sold more than 80 million records worldwide, racked up five billion streams, and released nine UK number one albums. Her numerous awards include four Brit Awards, two Grammys, 18 ARIA Awards, and two MTV Awards. Kylie Minogue is the only artist to have a number one album and top 10 singles in the UK in five consecutive decades. Kylie Minogue is considered the most successful Australian singer of all time, and her song "I Should Be So Lucky" was even named an Australian "cultural treasure" in 2011.
