Bertelsmann has been active in Spain for many years, not least with the Círculo de Lectores, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year. The country, however, has been confronted with challenging economic conditions for some time, and young people especially are suffering. For this reason, Bertelsmann is supporting the fight against youth unemployment with various initiatives, such as the project "Tú eres tu future" ("You Are Your Future"). One of these initiatives is the HR program "Talentum". The four participants of the project have now met in Barcelona for a discussion.
"Talentum" is a cross-divisional trainee program which not only aims to discover promising talents but also to strengthen Bertelsmann’s image as an employer. It targets students of selected Spanish universities and enables them to establish contact with Bertelsmann companies.
The participants of "Talentum" are assigned to various projects within the Bertelsmann companies over a period of two years. They are given the opportunity to acquire new skills based on real business cases. At the same time, they get a comprehensive overview of the group and the working processes, allowing them to lay a cornerstone for a possible future career at Bertelsmann.
Currently, two women and two men are participating in the project: Orio Cagigós, Gemma Vilaginés, Isabel Sáenz and Pablo Campos. They are assigned to Arvato Customer Services, G+J Spain, Random House Mondadori and Círculo de Lectores.
