The necessary shift to "distance learning" in the wake of the Corona crisis has largely worked well in Austria. Nevertheless, many students still face major challenges even now, whether due to a lack of social exchange or inadequate technical infrastructure. For this reason, the joint #weiterlernen initiative of the Austrian Ministry of Education and the Innovation Foundation for Education was founded back in April of last year. "The goal of the #weiterlernen platform is to ensure that every schoolchild in Austria has the same access to education. This includes digital devices so that students can participate in "distance learning"," explains Christian Giehler, Managing Director of infoscore austria gmbh, and continues: "As a responsible company, we wanted to make a contribution to support precisely this goal." The AFS unit provided a total of 32 notebooks for the initiative.

Now, Education Minister Faßmann personally thanked all the supporters. Due to generous donations of money and goods, another 375 digital devices could be acquired for distribution via the #weiterlernen platform, so that a total of 1,600 devices have now already been distributed to students since the start of the initiative.

"By providing more digital devices, we are creating the necessary conditions for successful learning from home. It is important that this help arrives quickly and without complications. This is exactly what we are ensuring with #weiterlernen. I would like to thank infoscore austria gmbh for the generous donation of laptops, which will help us to quickly meet the great demand," said Education Minister Faßmann.

Together with Jakob Calice Ph.D., Managing Director of the OeAD and Chairman of the Board of the Innovation Foundation for Education (ISB), Education Minister Dr. Heinz Faßmann personally thanked the donors and presented them each with a certificate.

The fact that the joint donations make a significant difference is reflected, among other things, in the numerous letters of thanks from parents, students and teachers. "We would like to thank you again for the generous donation. The kids are happy about it and can now fulfill more of their school requirements also in the online area" says principal Olaf W. and Katharina G., elementary school teacher, adds "The student who got the laptop couldn't believe it either! After all, he had neither Internet nor cell phone! He was speechless!"
