Arvato Connect Shortlisted For Sustainability Award

The service provider Arvato Connect in the UK has been named a finalist in the “Best Sustainable Customer Project of the Year” category at the inaugural 2024 “CRN Sustainability in Tech” awards together with the IT company Sumillion. The awards were announced at the “Sustainability in Tech Summit” on February 8 in London. They recognize initiatives by companies in the technology and IT sectors that support the journey to Net Zero. Arvato Connect was nominated alongside its IT equipment provider Sumillion for their work in decarbonizing the business’ IT estate and reducing its carbon footprint. As part of a recent IT upgrade, Sumillion helped Arvato Connect source 300 carbon neutral remanufactured laptops from Portsmouth-based IT refurbisher Circular Computing. According to Arvato Connect, each remanufactured laptop saves approximately 316kg of carbon dioxide compared to buying new, so this process helped prevent a total of 94,800kg of CO2 emissions –equivalent to removing more than 24 cars from roads for a year. Additionally, Arvato Connect donated 300 of their old laptops to Sumillion. Its team wiped, tested and refurbished the devices and worked with the poverty relief charity To Live in H.O.P.E to distribute them to schools in Ghana.
