For International Women’s Day on March 8, various women’s networks at Bertelsmann put together a diverse program. International Women’s Day aims to create an inclusive world where all people feel welcome and to promote initiatives that break down barriers, break stereotypes and empower women in all areas of society. Arvato Systems’ women’s network “herSystemS” for example, organized a presentation on “Generative AI & unconscious bias” that was also open to employees from other corporate divisions, followed by a discussion. Colleagues from the network also presented a wide range of field reports to make the diverse potential of “herSystemS” for networking, exchange, and female empowerment transparent. Arvato organized a keynote session titled “Choosing Our Champions: The Role of Role Models in Personal Growth”, which was also open for colleagues from other divisions on International Women’s Day. It focused on the decisive role of role models for our self-perception, targets, and decision-making. The participants had the opportunity to discuss how role models influence us, often unnoticed. At Penguin Random House Verlagsgruppe, the disability officers, members of the “be.queer” network, the women’s network “Women* Voices Salon”, and the equality and inclusion representatives took RTL Deutschland’s “Diversity Week” as an occasion to talk about the various offers within the publishing group as well as new ideas. Additionally, articles related to the topic were published on the intranet. At Riverty, this year’s International Women’s Day is not restricted to one day – instead, “Riverty United Women” has planned a diversified program throughout March, which aims to inspire exchange and a rethink. On a “Social Wall”, women can make their role models visible; the “Health & Wellbeing” team focuses on “hormonal health”, and male colleagues share their perspectives related to “Male Allyship” in a series of articles. Additionally, female executives offer insights into their experiences in “#ChangeAcceleratedStories”. At the occasion of International Women’s Day, two inspiring women from the Group got their say in the “Bertelsmann Erleben” podcast.
