This year, another 16 celebrities participated in the important cancer prevention project: In “Showtime of my Life – Stars gegen Krebs” on February 15 (“Men’s Night”) and February 22 (“Ladies Night”) at 8:15 p.m. on Vox, they will embark on a unique and intimate mission, aiming to highlight the potentially life-saving benefit of breast, prostate and testicle cancer screenings. The stars will take viewers along on an emotional journey, face new challenges, and tell their personal stories and experiences with the vicious disease. In an elegant final show, the celebrity women and men will remove their clothes and make an appeal to the audience: If we can take off our clothes in front of millions of viewers, you can do it in front of your doctor! Both shows will be accompanied by host and DKMS LIFE ambassador Guido Maria Kretschmer.

Mickie Krause, Heiko Wasser, Jan Sosniok, Oli Petszokat, Pascal Hens, Michael Roth and Kim Tränka are courageous enough to get undressed for the good cause. On their journey, the celebrities will become even more informed about the issue in direct discussions with people affected by cancer and, in order to eliminate negative preconceptions, learn from a urologist what actually happens during a cancer screening. The stars will also develop a better sense of their bodies to prepare for the big final show by taking pole dance lessons and performing in firefighting gear. The men will be coached by “Let’s Dance” judge Joachim Llambi.

Dismantling fears of contact

One week later, Susan Sideropoulos, Sabine Kaack, Lilly Becker, Sonya Kraus, Tanja Bülter, Nicole Jäger and Carolin Kotke will show that every woman can be beautiful, strong, self-confident and a superheroine. With various activities, “Let’s Dance” judge Motsi Mabuse will coach them towards reducing physical and emotional inhibitions in order to enable them to dress in high-quality superheroine costumes and then disrobe during the choreographed dance performance at the end. For example, the celebrity women are taken out of their comfort zone and reduce fears of contact by plastering each other’s breasts and filming a screening spot. Originally, Benjamin Köhler and Sila Sahin-Radlinger participated in the show. However, they were unfortunately unable to take part in the big final of “Showtime of my Life – Stars gegen Krebs”. Despite being fully vaccinated, they contracted COVID-19 and were in quarantine at the time of the recording. Both contestants have fully recovered.
