Reading by Brix Schaumburg in Munich
Subject: Society

PRH and the "be.queer" network invite employees to a reading of the new book "Qu(e)er durchs Land".
Brix Schaumburg is Germany's first outed trans actor. For his new book "Qu(e)er durchs Land - Von der Vielfalt des Lebens und der Suche nach mit selbst", he got on his bike and cycled through Germany. At various locations, he sought out personal conversations about queer life realities, visibility and social coexistence. The book will be published by Heyne Verlag on Wednesday.
Just a few days later, on May 22, the Penguin Random House publishing group and the Bertelsmann network "be.queer" are inviting the author to a reading at the publishing house's offices in Munich. Here, Schaumburg will read from the new book and talk about his exciting travel stories. In addition to the journey, it is also about the many voices, perspectives and realities of queer people in Germany. Schaumburg's declared aim is to build bridges and initiate discussion on topics that are otherwise often overlooked.
Activist by conviction
Schaumburg is an activist by conviction. The proceeds from his bike tour went to queer projects throughout Germany. In addition to his commitment to the rights of queer people in Germany, he also writes children's books and works as a voice actor.
The reading in Munich will be hosted by Florian Valerius. Valerius is better known as "@literarischernerd". He regularly posts book tips for his 32,000 followers on Instagram. He also works as a bookseller and literary mediator. For Valerius, moderation is a lively exchange at eye level - authentic, interested and always driven by his passion for literature.
