RTL Deutschland will once again celebrate a “Diversity Week” from March 10-16, this year under the motto “Diversity connects”. The company’s comprehensive content offerings will show the dimensions of diversity in society through a wide variety of people and their stories. The theme week will be accompanied by celebrities, extensive reporting in news formats and journals, and a large-scale marketing campaign on TV, radio, digital media, and social media.

RTL Deutschland will once again celebrate a “Diversity Week” from March 10-16, this year under the motto “Diversity connects”. Under the claim “Feelings know no differences”, the company will place all dimensions of diversity at the center of its content offerings for one week. In a society that is currently often focused on differences, RTL Deutschland wants to celebrate the value of community and show that there is more that connects us than divides us, as RTL Deutschland announced.

The theme week will be all about feelings that unite people, from sadness and fear to joy and enthusiasm. People experience the same feelings and share similar experiences – regardless of their origin, gender, or biography. In its extensive content offerings, RTL Deutschland will therefore show a wide variety of people and tell their unique stories.

“Prerequisite for a functioning democracy”

The theme week will be accompanied by a marketing campaign on TV, digital media, radio and social media from March 3. Celebrities such as choreographer and model Bruce Darnell, “No Angels” singer and “Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus!” winner Lucy Diakovska, content creator Anna Osicki, world and European champion Mathias Mester, and football ace Patrick “Coach” Esume will use their personal experiences to describe how emotions create community in a unique way in their respective fields. Together, they are the “faces” of the theme week and represent different dimensions of diversity.

Ingrid Heisserer, Chief Human Resources & Financial Officer RTL Deutschland, says: “Respecting the equality of all people is a prerequisite for a functioning democracy. RTL Deutschland stands for diversity and community. They are the basis of our content offerings, our self-image in the company – and reflecting on them is perhaps more important than ever right now. I am therefore delighted that we have been offering them a big stage for many years with our ‘Diversity connects initiative.”

Marie-Fee Taube, Head of Sustainability & CR at RTL Deutschland, comments: “Everyone experiences hope, sadness, anger, doubt, pain, and love – regardless of origin, age, gender or abilities. In this year’s ‘Diversity Week’, we want to emphasize the power of feelings as a unifying element. Our message: everyone is unique, but we all share feelings. I look forward to a variety of entertainment and journalism offerings that will bring our viewers, readers, and users into contact with this connecting and unifying power.”
