The TV and film production company UFA will promote the “Kinder(ar)MUT” project of AWO in Potsdam and sustainably support it by providing laptops that are no longer needed. The goal is to reduce the impact of child poverty and to promote digital homeschooling.

UFA is now supporting the “Kinder(ar)MUT” project of the AWO Potsdam worker’s welfare association by providing laptops that are no longer needed in order to reduce the impact of child poverty and to promote digital homeschooling. Joachim Kosack, Managing Director of UFA and UFA Serial Drama, said: “Unfortunately, not all children and youths can equally enjoy education in Germany. I am therefore very proud of this initiative, which was developed by the UFA IT and Finance teams, and I am delighted about supporting AWO in Potsdam with a sustainable donation of laptops that are no longer needed. We hope that we can support children and youths in Potsdam with our donation, enabling them to participate in digital homeschooling, and to sustainably promote their education.”

In order to reduce the impact of child poverty in Potsdam, the project “Kinder(ar)MUT” of AWO Potsdam was initiated in 2018. The team takes care of providing socially disadvantaged children with the tools they need to fully participate in the education experience, launching a call for donations at the end of 2002, especially for digital end devices. The coronavirus pandemic has clearly highlighted the fact that many children who grow up in poverty lack digital end devices. During the first lockdown in Germany and the current lockdown, they have been excluded from digital homeschooling and hence from education. UFA has already donated more than 20 devices, which will be forwarded to the children and youths.
