Meet and greet event on Christopher Street Day in Cologne in July 2017

Following Bertelsmann's be.queer network,  UFA has set up a team to explicitly promote an open working environment for all employees, regardless of their sexual identity and orientation.

The UFA team, consisting of Diana Benzien, Markus Schroth, Clemens Dalchau and Tobias Heina, will seek to develop ideas on how UFA can approach the topic and take appropriate specific measures.

To contribute to the debate, and shortly before thapprovale Bundestag (German parliament) approval on 'marriage for all', the profile pictures of all UFA's social media channels were adorned with the rainbow logo, and an article citing Co-CEO Nico Hofmann was posted and shared, to send out a clear signal in favour of 'marriage for all'.

Nico Hofmann, Co-CEO UFA: "In my view, gender equality should have been given legal status years ago." For him the Bundestag's adoption of the resolution is "a mark of respect that bestows dignity on same-sex partnerships and is a clear indication that gender is not an issue if two people love each other."

In addition, UFA's be.queer team already hosted a meet and greet event in Cologne on Christopher Street Friday early in July 2017, to foster an exchange of views and experiences between colleagues from a wide range of Bertelsmann divisions who had joined the company's be.queer network.
