Promoting Healthy Employees

Subject: Employees
Country: Spain
Category: Project

With Megustaescribir and Megustaleer, the Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial launched special online portals and campaigns for people who like to write or read years ago. That’s what "Me gusta escribir" and "Me gusta leer" mean. Now the Spanish book publishing group is launching another campaign: "Me gusta estar bien" (I like feeling good). The campaign addresses the employees of the publishing group and aims to improve not only their health but also their health awareness.

The program "Me gusta estar bien" is based on five pillars: health-promotion management, emotional well-being, physical activity, communication and nutrition. The company is mailing out newsletters but also invitations to lectures and other events.

"Me gusta estar bien" was not created on a whiteboard; the publishing group asked its employees about their needs but also possible reservations they might have regarding the planned health offerings. The results of the survey were then integrated into the concept for the program. As a first expression of gratitude, all employees received flyers and free apples.

Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial is also combining the health program with a corporate responsibility campaign to benefit people who can only dream of being healthy: they suffer from multiple sclerosis. And an amateur football team was established aiming to raise money for charity.
