‘Puffin World Of Stories’ Enters Its Second Round

Puffin continues its pilot program “Puffin World Of Stories” launched in 2018 in cooperation with the National Literacy Trust. The children’s book publisher supplies primary schools in the UK with books and material to promote reading. Starting in September, 80 new schools will be able to participate in the one-year program.
School libraries should be places filled with stories, creativity and fantasy. Therefore, the British children’s book publisher Puffin together with the National Literacy Trust launched the “Puffin World Of Stories” program. The publisher supplies primary schools in the UK with books and material to promote reading and offers special training for teachers and librarians to help them bring the magic of reading to life. Following the program’s successful launch last year, the Penguin Random House UK publisher continues the project. Starting in September, 80 new schools across Essex, South London, Middlesbrough and Tyne and Wear will get the chance to take part in the one-year program. They must register by 17 May.
Of those schools already taking part, one hundred percent of those running the library have said they feel better equipped to develop a reading community upon completing the training. The same percentage also felt they were better informed about how to engage with students in order to inspire them to read for pleasure. With “Puffin World Of Stories” and other social projects, Penguin Random House UK aims to make a contribution to closing the creativity gap in the country, which is rooted in inequality in the UK and means not everyone in society has an equal opportunity to meet their creative potential.
