Easter Reading Pleasure

Penguin Random House Verlagsgruppe employees visited the Münchner Tafel food bank with more than 600 books for children aged 18 months to 14 years before Easter to provide the young guests with reading material for the holiday. Parents, grandparents, and children were able to browse through the selection of books and get advice from our colleagues. A special highlight: Munich-based author Oliver Pötzsch helped with distributing the books and obviously enjoyed talking with the young and older readers about his book “Lara, Viktor und der Zauberbaum – Zu allen Zeiten Abenteuer”. Carina Mathern, Publisher Children’s and Youth Books (Cbj, Cbt, Penguin Junior, and Tulipan) at Penguin Random House Verlagsgruppe, said: “Once again this year, we are delighted to partner with the Münchner Tafel to bring new stories to children and young people. Especially when everyday life is challenging, books can offer encouragement, spark curiosity, and open doors. Through our donation campaign, we want to give young readers moments of wonder and show them just how diverse, comforting, and inspiring literature can be. We are grateful for our close collaboration with the Münchner Tafel and proud to make a contribution to greater cultural participation.” Currently, the Münchener Tafel food bank provides food to over 22,000 guests each week, including more than 7,000 children, at 30 distribution sites.
