For the fourth time in a row, BMG has been recognized as one of Germany's most LGBTIQ+-friendly employers. Ranked second in the index, BMG is once again among the three medium-sized companies with the highest overall score in the annual LGBTIQ+ Diversity Performance Index (Pride Index). The index is compiled by the social enterprise Uhlala Group and is based on an evaluation of workplace initiatives. The “Pride Index” serves as an important benchmark for LGBTIQ+ diversity and inclusion in the German workplace. BMG performed excellently in this year's assessment, achieving the highest score of 100 percent in each of the key categories of “DEI management,” “recruitment, training, and awareness,” and “contact persons and anti-discrimination.”

"The fact that we have achieved a top ranking in the Pride Index for the fourth consecutive year is testament to the vibrant and inclusive culture that our team creates every day,“ says Pierrot Raschdorff, Senior Director, Global Corporate Responsibility, at BMG. ”At a time when queer people around the world are fighting for acceptance, our commitment must be clear and visible. It's not just about policies, but about actions. From London to Los Angeles to Berlin, we see how promoting diversity empowers our employees and resonates with the artists and songwriters we represent. This recognition reinforces our determination to make BMG a place where creativity and identity are celebrated without compromise."

Pride events in Los Angeles, London, and Berlin

BMG's commitment was reflected, for example, in its global Pride Month activities. In Los Angeles, the team caused a stir at the LA Pride parade by handing out BMG Pride flags with QR codes that linked to a curated playlist. The initiative brought colleagues together and celebrated the diversity of BMG's global artist roster. In London, the team hosted a glittering Drag Bingo night in Pimlico, promoting community and joy. The highlight of the celebrations took place in Berlin at the famous Christopher Street Day (CSD) parade, where the BMG team took to the streets with their own truck, together with colleagues from Bertelsmann companies RTL, Arvato, Riverty, and Penguin Random House, as well as a performance by BMG artist Blazey. In the days leading up to the parade, the Berlin office hosted several events, including a keynote speech by drag artist Meryl Deep, a Pride Bingo night, and a digital allyship workshop.

“Achieving a perfect 100% rating in categories such as ‘Recruiting, Training & Awareness’ directly reflects our conscious efforts to build a truly open team,” says Markus Jeroma, Senior Director, Global Talent Acquisition, at BMG. “In the creative industry, the best talent seeks an environment where they can be themselves. This consistent recognition sends a clear message to current and future team members that BMG is committed to their growth, safety, and belonging.”
